This one-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid course has been designed for those who have an interest in child and infant basic life support. If you have a professional interest, i.e. you are a child-minder or school teacher, etc, then this course partly fulfils the requirements of Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage require you to have 12 hours of paediatric first aid training, so the 2-Day Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid would be required to fulfil their requirements. This 6 hour qualification also makes up the first half of the 12-hour course.
Assessment and Marking
The course Instructor is responsible for determining whether delegates pass or fail based on practical and oral assessment throughout the course, i.e. by observation and oral questioning, as well as the completion of a multiple-choice question paper at the end of the course. The Instructor will only award a pass if they believe that delegates have displayed the requisite understanding and competencies at the end of each session throughout the course and successfully completed the question paper.
Assessment is ongoing by the instructor in respect of the student’s practical ability, along with a multiple choice question paper. A three year certificate (FAA Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid QCF) will be issued, subject to assessment by our awarding body NUCO Training Ltd.
A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course.
Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years of age to qualify.
