The Emergency First Aid at Work course adapted for Sports
The EFAW is a fully regulated and Ofqual Approved one day course covering care of the unconscious casualty as well as commonly occurring injuries in adults and children and is adapted to include elements relevant to your sports.
Our course uniquely adds in additional areas to the EFAW syllabus and can cover additional topics such as:
- Heart attack,
- Head and spinal injuries,
- Breaks and sprains
- Heat Exhaustion / Heat Stroke
The standard EFAW course is 6 hours teaching time, however depending on your individual requirements extra time will be required. For further information contact Chris on 99954227.
Royal Yachting Association (RYA) First Aid Course
At kembali First Aid Training we can offer your sailing / boating club an RYA Level 2 Qualification in First Aid. The course is generally run over 1 day and requires a minimum of 8hours teaching time. The qualification lasts for 3 years.
Our one-day course covers all the usual first aid subjects, but from a boating perspective. It is aimed at anyone who goes afloat, whether on inland waters, rivers, estuaries or on cross channel passages.
The subjects specific to boating include:
- the recovery position in a confined space
- CPR, including the drowning protocol
- cold shock and hypothermia from immersion and/or exposure
- seasickness and dehydration
- medical assistance or advice by VHF
- helicopter rescue
